Nangs is the slang word for cream chargers in Australia. This is because nitrous oxide is used to make whipped cream, and nitrous oxide is known as nangs. Australians also call N2O cream chargers whippits. It isn’t just the Australians that call nitrous oxide nangs, New Zealanders also use this term.

Why should you consider buying a cream charger? How can you use it daily is a question we are getting a lot of. No, whipped cream isn’t just used for desserts. There are many other ways that you can use the nang cream chargers.
You can make mousses for desserts or salty whipped cream for sauce in main courses.
Many different alcoholic cocktails require whipped cream and are easy to make with the cream charger.
With the cream charger, you can infuse your whipped cream with syrup, marinades, and even olive oil without losing the fluff in the whipped cream.

Yes, in Australia, you can legally purchase and use N2O cream chargers if you are over the age of 18. It is illegal for individuals under 18 to buy nitrous oxide. This regulation is in place under Australian Consumer Law. The small gas canisters used for whipping cream or medical purposes are legal, but their sale is restricted to prevent misuse and potential health risks such as overdosing.

At King Whip, we have strict purchasing policies in place to ensure that our products are only sold to those over 18 years of age. We are committed to preventing any misuse of our products and actively enforce measures to restrict any improper use.

It depends on the size of the cream charger. The original nang cream charger weighs just 8 grams and can only be used once. It is enough gas for 0.5 litres of whipped cream. After each use, you need to replace the charger before you can make whipped cream again.
However, there are now larger N2O chargers that are 1 litre and 3.3 litres that you can use instead of the 8-gram canisters. They don’t require as frequent refills and can be used between 77 and 256 times before replacement is needed.

Again, it depends on the type of dispenser you have, and depending on the chargers that you buy. Some dispensers or whippers are designed to only take a certain brand of charger. In this case, you can’t just buy and refill your dispenser with a universal charger.
However, most of the time, any 8-gram charger can be used in a dispenser. It is recommended that you read the instruction manual of your dispenser to see what nang cream chargers you can use.
